HEAVY METALS OR HIGH DENSITY TUNGSTEN ALLOYS
Heavy metals or high density tungsten alloys are alloys mainly containing tungsten. Alloying elements are nickel/copper (non-magnetic) or nickel/iron (magnetic). The density is between 17-18,8 g/cm³ with tungsten content between 17% and 18.5%.

These alloys offer advantages which you cannot achieve from any other metal or alloy. And in opposite to pure tungsten these alloys are easily machined. The number of applications are countless.

Some examples
  • balanceweights for turbines, aircrafts, instruments
  • crankshafts, generators etc
  • radiation shielding (gamma-ray cameras etc)
  • toolmaking - reducing of vibrations, boring bars
  • collimators for radiotheraphy
  • counterweights for a variety of products
  • grinding wheel carrier
  • rotors for gyro-compasses
  • electrodes and clamping jaws
We offer finished items to your drawing as well as more common semi-finished shapes like tungsten alloy rods, tungsten alloy pipes and tungsten alloy plates.
